I had some aiders, slings and daisy chains that were bright yellow, magenta and blue.
I used https://www.walmart.com/ip/Rit-Dye-...50049&wl11=online&wl12=46091553&wl13=&veh=sem

A few years back I used the regular Rit dye on some white climbing rope. It did make it brown but it didn't work as well as the "Dye More".

For your own future well-being, use a cheap stock pot that will never be used for cooking.
Heated water on stovetop just below boiling and added the whole bottle. THIS WORKS WAY BETTER WHEN YOUR WIFE ISN'T HOME :)

I did two Aiders, two daisy chains and a sling. Stirred it for 30 minutes with a paint stir (wear gloves!) while keeping the water hot but not boiling. I took it outside and dumped it and rinsed with a garden hose while agitating the items with my hand like a washing machine until the water ran clear and put them out in the sun to dry.

They came out BLACK. I would expect that the dye will rub off from friction/wear but that isn't a problem. The main thing is it soaked in really well.

I also got a bottle of Brown that I will use on the new harness I have coming (it's bright red) as soon as I decide I will keep it.

Thanks for sharing. I used the regular rit dye once and I wasn't impressed with it. I'll try this next time.

My wife dyed my tether for me...I don't think she trusted me lol

I tried this today and am very happy with the results. Used the chocolate brown on one yellow and one red aider. The bottle notes it works faster on nylon. I'm guessing mine took less than 10 mins to get where I wanted color wise.

Wouldn't you want a brown color rope over a black color for the woods though?

I tried paint on a daisy chain. It certainly dulls it down but it wears off and paint dust gets around. And the smell probably never really goes away either. Dye does have a smell but it isn't as much of a chemical smell.
