Dyeing Rope?

I've dyed various cordage using the RIT dyes with various amounts of success. The nylon cord I used to haul my bow up, so nothing rated. Sometimes it would take the dye great, other times not so much. I doubt it would weaken the rope, but seeing as I'm not a rope or rope dying expert I can't speak with any amount of expertise.
 
I've used RIT dye as well. Keep in mind, a black dye will turn a white rope grey. You won't get a deep 'true to color' dye ...at lease not based on the experiences I've had.
 
I use that rope for my linesman with a ropeman one. Works great. I never minded the color and neither have the deer I've harvested. I get wanting a duller, more camo like color and, I dont blame you, but I have noticed it doesn't seem to matter, at least in my area.
 
I tried to dye my blue tether black. Its still blue-ish. I used RIT with some success, like said previously no deep coloring.
