Is it advisable to use dynamic rope for a tether/lineman's belt? I got some off a rock climbing buddy, but all recommendations that I've seen have called for static rope. It's plenty strong, but I was wondering if there were any other reasons people don't use it.

In theory we use static because we don't need any stretch when we're hanging in a static position. We actually don't want it to stretch. Practically hanging off it I think it will be just fine. If I'm buying new rope for a tether though I buy static.
