I recently bought some arrows from a buddy. Got a bargain, but I didn’t realize they were deep six arrows... and I had to buy all new broadheads. And they have such a small diameter that they fall out of my old quiver!
Not wanting to buy an expensive new quiver, I decided to make my own. I had an old broken fishing rod case (pvc tube with foam inside the end cap). I cut it down to size. I invested $1 in a pair of flip flops (from Dollar Tree) and cut out 2 circles. I drilled holes for the arrows in both foam circles. On one of the foam circles, I cut lines from the outer edge to each circle (so I could slide the shafts in). That piece goes just above the broadheads. The other piece goes on top. I push the nocks in from underneath. The cap on the bottom is an ovaltine jar which was the perfect size.
I plan to strap the bow and quiver to my backpack so that I’ll carry everything into the woods hands free. I won’t have to worry about the Rage blades coming loose. They can’t touch anything while in the case. The foam holds them off the tube and each other.
When I get to my tree, I will take the arrows out of the tube and leave them at the bottom of the tree while I climb up. When I’m ready, I will use my haul line with a hook to pull up the arrows (with the two foam circles holding them). I’ll hang them from a hook on the tree. Hopefully that makes some sense. I tried to add pics, but the files are too large. I’ll figure out how to post pics.
