I didn't listen to my own rule of only 1 arrow at a time and I've managed to bust 2 outta the 3 I built to hunt with so I needed to build a couple more....I document the fitment for the outsert.
This all picks up after u have cut ur arrow to length. Ethics outserts going on gt hunter
1: measure from the front of ur arrow 13/16-7/8 and get a mark
2: chuck your arrow into ur hand drill being careful not to overtighten
3: use a clamp or ziptie and pin the trigger on the drill back and use sandpaper to start to"lathe" the outside diameter to fit. All the ones I've done so far fit as soon as I get thru the coating and u see black carbon
80grit seems to take it down quick but not so aggressive you eat into the carbon to quick....take your time and dry fit during the sanding process so I don't take off excess material.
Once u done u ready for insert install
Once installed u successfully increase the structural integrity of ur arrow
