So I started with a size2 Evo and hunted from it for a while. I liked it but still thought it was a little "too much". Mainly all the straps is what bugged me so after seeing DaveT's way of hunting from just the upper belt I tried that and loved it!! I hunted all season with it like that and thought with a little extra support beneath the belt it would be about perfect.

Well.....Santa brought me a sewing awl for Christmas so yesterday I got to work!! I had a padded back band I was using for back support so I decided it would be used for this mod. I used the two buckles that held the bottom seat in place on the upper belt and added straps to the padded band to hold it in place. After that, I took the 2" webbing that originally went to the paws from the upper belt and folded them down and sewed them to the bottom padded band. After that I took the straps of each end of the padded band and ran them to the end loops on each end of my bridge.

The way I sit in this is pretty much like a swing. The upper belt rides at the top of my butt and the lower band is pretty much in the middle. This set up is just awesome. Super light weight, and no excess metal.

Since I used my padded strap for the mod I made a new one from the extra nylon strap

Since I sewed the open areas of the 2" webbing on the upper belt closed I had to add two straps for my dump pouches to attach to

Re: Evolution

So you basically made a "cup" or V to lean into, looks good. I ran into similar situation with the molle saddle. 1 belt was ok, but (2) sewn to form a cup was the ticket to comfort.

Re: Evolution

Very impressed with your hybrid. Nice job thinking and creating something outside the proverbial box.
