I have about 2 acres on my property with an adjoining hundred acres that no one is developed. And addition two minutes down the road I have another 12 acres. We hunt squirrel mostly and trap on the 12 acres.

Does anybody know if there are people that can help me look over a property and set it up? Or even assess it for whitetail hunting potential?

Many state DNR's have biologists that work on private lands.
I was going to say this as well. We have worked a our private land specialist a few times. There are also consulting companies that do habitat work, but a visit will usually cost you.

There are a few really impressive guys that do this in sw Michigan. They put out some pretty great YouTube videos I will see if I can find one and link it

I’ve been manicuring my property since I got it 2 years ago. I love this stuff. It’s not big enough to manage for big deer but I am pulling a lot more deer my way than I had when I got it.

Do you own the neighboring 100 acres? Are you looking to manage it solely for deer or to manage it for potential income (timber, etc.) with the deer hunting as a secondary benefit?

There are lots of guys out there with consulting buisnesses that will help you set up a property. Whitetail Habitat solutions that @sureshotscott linked above is a good one, Land and Legacy is another https://landandlegacy.tv/. The guys from Michigan mentioned above I assume are Jake Ehrlinger and his group but, they focus on Deer habitat only and not timber management etc. All of these guys are going to be expensive though if you only own the 14 acres and can't make improvements on the other 100 acres.

Jeff Sturgis also has three books in his "Success by design" series that go into detail on ideas and concepts to set up a property for yourself if you want to save the money. https://www.whitetailhabitatsolutions.com/store. Iv'e read them all and used some of his ideas on my property with good results. (At least until I screw up the shot like yesterday :disappointed:)
