First Saddle Hunt, First Public Land Deer

After my first 2 seasons with no success on public land in TX, I finally got my first deer on public land. My saddle arrived Thursday and on Saturday evening I got an opportunity a shot I wouldn't have in a tree stand. I've been reading here and watching a lot of THP, learning as much as I can and it payed off. So happy to have all of this in my freezer.
I wish I would have taken more pictures but it was late and I had a long drag back to the truck. I took a couple better ones of her when I got back to the house. Thanks for all the posts. I've learned a lot reading here. Glad I can share my success.

Congrats ... what part of Texas? I'm hunting the DCNF and hopefully this year I can harvest something.
