Did my first hunt of the year and first saddle sit ever with my sit drag tonight. Huntered from about 4 30 to dark (3 hours) and felt pretty good in it. Had a little bit of pinch on my left leg but I feel like it was very comparable to sitting in a hang on stand as far a comfort goes. I understand why people want knee pads but on this tree, I was able to straddle the tree while sitting. I think once I get used to it more I'm going to really enjoy this method. I didnt see any deer but this was more of a practice than anything and a reason to get a longer period of time in the sit drag to see how the comfort was. Excited for this coming season!

Wow. I think with each hunt I will become more comfortable. It was a little sketchy at first relying on the ropes 20 foot up in a tree versus at ground level. I got used to it pretty quick though

I'd suggest you take some time practice shooting from that height before hunting, shooting a bow from the saddle a couple feet off the ground is a lot different than from 20' up in a tree. Just my 2 cents...

Thanks for the 2 cents! Lol I hadn't thought of that. I will do it. I drew back several times last night practicing while up there.

No problem man! The biggest consideration when your up really high is shot placement in my opinion. When you practice shooting on the ground your looking for a double lung / heart shot from a level area and a flat arrow trajectory, when shooting from 12' or higher especially in short range shots in order to penetrate both lungs or get a solid heart shot you need to put pin a bit higher than you would if you were standing on the ground due to the angle of entry. Good luck this season!

Correct. I've shot many deer. This was just my first hunt of this year since I usually only hunt cold fronts until the last couple days of october
