Spend some time in the tree. Climb took me a lot less time than I thought, but have to work out getting gear up there (the Doyle Gear Hoist worked great). I need to attache more (including my sticks) to my saddle for the climb. Very short sit, about 2hrs, so mostly a dry run.

Using the top step of the Hawk Sticks combined with Bullman Outdoors - Silent Approach Step Rings for a platform. Still have a stick on my back because I couldn't clear the higher branches.

Anytime is better than no time! The only way to figure out what you need is to spend a little time in the tree. Good luck!
