Thought I would share this.
Gene has been holding some auctions to raise funds for mounting health care expenses for his wife.
Past auctions were held on some sort of auction website and included hundreds of items...not everything was related to bowhunting. The volume and variety of stuff that he has collected over the years is absolutely mind blowing. One of my favorite items he auctioned was the bison vertebrae with a stone head embedded. And a lot of the stuff has very interesting stories of how he came to obtain them. The bison vertebrae was one such item.
I actually held that item when I visited Gene's home several years ago. He had some incredibly cool stuff.

So this next auction is being held on Facebook. I don't have a FB account so I cannot see the pics of the items, but some of you might be interested in checking it out.
Gene has done more for trad and whitetail bowhunting as anyone still alive. He deserves our support.
Bid on some stuff if you can and if you can't bid, then pray for him and Donna.

Looks like some interesting things on there, the link goes to a general archery for sale page but it looks like quite a few of the recent posts are from him. Lots of fletchings and such, this listing for a bunch of his tags looks cool, current bid 100

I have talked to Gene for quite a few years now and still usually talk to him probably a few times a year.
In my honest opinion him and Barry are just top notch people. Two of my favorites in the hunting world.
they are just pioneers of bow hunting snd how it should be. They recommended checking somthing out or trying new things.
Never a you need this or buy this to be successful approach.
just great people.
i will be definitely checking what they have out
 
Ugh. I hate to read and hear things like this. Why does everything good have to come to an end? I grew up reading his books and watching his videos. Went to a couple of his deer shows. Great speaker and entertainer..... and buck killer!!! God bless Gene and his wife. Praying. I don't do facebook but I may look on my wife's account. Thanks for the information.
