Oh boy,bought my license and got two extra doe permits. I can whack five deer altogether,put me in coach!!! How many points would that be for the contest? Three does and two bucks.
The only problem is getting the chance at all of them....I will try my darndest.
 
Sweet. My luck usually is I get one deer and then buy a second tag immediately and always end up eating that second tag at the end of the season. Really trying to solve that one. I say it every year. Maybe this will be the year.

central NY. We have good numbers here in my area and the next zone to the west. The deer are definetely around,but sometimes it is tricky to get them in bow range. I hope to connect before the hunting pressure really amps up. Bow season runs for about a month,then crossbow comes in two weeks before gun season opens in mid November.
That of course is when the deer get really twitchy and run when they see a human from half a mile away.

Holy cow,12? That is wild. Five is plenty for me for a year,three may be enough but if i get more i can share some of the meat and sausage i make.
How much meat do you get of a georgia deer? I get about 30# - 40# of one without any bone up here in NY.
 
I'm all set for Maine, unlimited does in the coastal zone (I bought 4 tags to start / $12 Ea.) and 1 buck ($32). Then for rifle / shotgun / muzzy, 1 buck and 1 doe (or 2 does) if I get a bonus tag, or 1 buck OR a doe without a bonus tag.

Needless to say I am going to stay coastal until the rut and out away some freezer queens. Also, hunting New Hampshire (2 bucks, 3 does) and Nantucket Island in Mass. come December, 2 bucks, unlimited does. Going to be a high tag year for the freezer and YouTube channel! 5 guys behind cameras this year!

They’re not as big as deer up north, obviously, but there’s some good ones down here too. I’d say 20-30 lbs maybe a bit more depending on the size of the deer. With my wife not eating deer meat very often, it’s enough for me haha. I try to take at least 2 maybe 3. With the shortages the way they are may try and take 1-2 more this year

My wife also doesn't est deer meat much at all,she is 99% vegetarian. I don't eat anything else in the meat realm though,aside from some pork mixed into the sausage and burger.

I cant imagine getting three deer in a day. That sounds like work.
I had a double a few years ago on the gun opener and shot a buck at daybreak. I gave it ten minutes before going over to where i thought he dropped and when i got there and admired him i saw two does walking my way. I was not even behind a tree,just stood still and watched them until i decided which one was the bigger one and then shot her. Done a little after 7 a.m. That was pretty neat and my wife hopes i will do this every year,haha.
I much rather shoot deer with my bow than the muzzleloader,i think this will be my first year taking my bow out during gun season.
Lots of firsts this year,that keeps it interesting.
 
In my county in Ontario I get one tag for gun or archery. And one additional tag for archery.
Two tags. We are not over run with deer.
If I drive through Michigan I see a lot more dead deer at the side of the road. I hit a deer on the freeway heading into Chicago once.
You have more deer state side
If I fill both tags that is lots for the freezer

We are unlimited for does. I think the doe tags are only a couple dollars also. Minnesota and CWD they want us to whip out the population.
