For those that are using the hand climber seat as a platform, what are you using to keep the seat from falling down the tree accidentally? Where are you securing it to the saddle?

I have climbing webbing tied to platform and other end tied to carabiner. I clip biner on other side of platform and use the webbing as an aider to get on the platform. Then unclip webbing and clip to molle loops on my Flex. Im not entirely happy with this set up as the platform tether can get you busted if its swinging around while you maneuver. The platform is also super loose at hunting height compared to a cammed platform. I might remove tether all together as I rappel to get down any way. If it was to fall, I will use rappel line to get down or ditch the whole thing for a much sturdier system that allows for side pressure.

Flat webbing for foot straps. Paracord tied to each side and then centered to use to lift foot straps up. Then paracord Is clipped to my waist with mini s-Biner wherever works. Light and works great. I don’t strap it down at height and don’t have the bolt mod or any others.

I use one inch flat webbing that I folded over on each end and installed a grommet then I put the grommet over the bolt that holds the arms on the platform. In the middle of the flat webbing I tied a 4' piece of 550 para cord the other end of the para cord is on a s biner then that is clipped onto a prussik loop on my tether. I have two LWHC one with mod and one without. I use the one without most of the time. I love this system!

Thanks for the replies. I hadn't planned to run any webbing to use as foot holds but that would make climbing easier. I figure I'll use the hand climber seat for a bit while I'm working on a platform.

Did you only plan on the climber as a platform or to climb and platform??

I used an auto serpentine belt for foot loops. The ribs help hold on your shoes and it has just enough stiffness to hold a shape, while still allowing you to step on it while moving your feet once the platform is set.

I burned 2 holes into climbing webbing and put behind nut of arm bolt. Well this evening it pulled through. I had to call it a day. Any pics of good solid single foot straps?

Rather than putting the strap behind the nut, I put each side between the arm and platform. I am hoping this will hold it better. I tried it with a washer behind but but the strap rotated with the turning of the arms.

I did the same thing only I used grommets. I also folded the webbing three times before I burned thru then put the grommets in and peeled them over. You can probably use washers also.
