I know this isn't an original idea, but I couldn't find any relevant info.

Does anyone use the strap from their climbing sticks as a lineman belt? Seems it would be more compact than the rope one I have. I'm going to be one sticking anyways, so I won't need it often, but always want to keep one on anyways.

I can pull it tighter without having to press the button, but loosening it would seem to be a bit more difficult to accomplish. Screenshot_20191130-154348_Gallery.jpg

how do you like it and are there any things you encountered that i should be aware of?

It worked just fine wen I used it, just had a lightweight wire gate carabiner on each end. The only ‘watch out’ thing I can think of really, is make sure you don’t hit the buckle with a climbing stick. The obvious noise that will come of it, but if you have tension on it, and hit that lever on the buckle, it will let out an inch or so of slack. You’re not going anywhere, but it’s a pucker moment. And of course, you’re using something way outside of it’s intended use, so use it at your own risk, not at anyone’s recommendation.

I used a LW cam buckle strap as a LB for about 10 years. Never had an issue. Using Oplux with Scwabish hitch and tender now.
