Hello from Florida. Full disclosure....I’ve been lurking around on the forum for almost two years, just reading and learning. But I think I’m finally ready to start contributing myself, because through trial and error I have learned a few things that might help out the next guy. As far as hunting from a saddle, I purchased a Kestrel two years ago right after it came out, might have even been in the first batch. I started by only using it on occasion along with my Summit climber and LW hang-on (old habits are hard to break). Then last year I left the Summit in the garage for the entire season, and I started going deeper into the public “no man’s” land that could only hold my LW and/or the saddle. The thicker and the wetter became my destinations, the places where I had never seen other hunters go. And thanks to this site, along with the Hunting Public YouTube channel, and Dan Infault’s Hunting Beast forum...I was on top of more deer last season than any other season before. I would have to guess that my deer hunting IQ obtained in the past few years without the assistance of the forums and the videos would have taken me 10+ years of trial and error.
So anyways, along with an intro I wanted to say thanks for being a community who has generously shared their personal, and hard earned, knowledge and experience. I’m a better hunter because of it.
