Boat #1

Boat #2

I need some more eyes on this guys. Can't just buy both and sell the one I don't want.... Haha!

I'm fairly new to fishing. I got a cheapo 14 foot boat off Craigslist last year. It's in rough shape and the wife won't get in it. I'm looking for something a little bigger so I can have the wife and kid or a couple buddies.

Both boats are 16 footers. Both will get the job done. I'm leaning more towards boat #1 but I like the steering column in boat #2. Also boat #2 is cheaper so I could put in some of the add-ons later.

Whichever one I buy will be the last boat I have for awhile. It would be nice to have something to take the whole family out and to teach my girl how to fish when she is of age. I go on mostly small lakes so either should be plenty boat....

Help me choose guys! Im a newb when it comes to boats! Help me out:)

SmokerCraft makes a good boat. I would definitely look at that one. Remember, that for most used boats, it is the engine that you are really buying. Have a mechanic go over it for you.

The 2 happiest days of a boat owner’s life are the day he buys it and the day he sells it. A boat is a hull in the water that you throw money into. Do yourself a favor and do a compression test on either motor before you make your decision. Dont take the current owners’ word for it. Youtube has some great how to videos on compression testing. If you buy a boat for a “good deal” then have to rebuild the engine........ it wasn’t a good deal after all!

That smokercraft is deeper with a more agressive bow line. It's a more stable boat and will take rough waters better. Console is better for boating with the family because your mind ship when at the healm. You can man both bow and stern when docking. Also bettet to have more hp than less when the shtf, whether you usenisnregularly or not.#2 is a better boat.
