Hi Fella’s Antique Archer here from Georgia.
I recently saw a saddle video demo of a tree surgeon and his buddy climbing with no sticks doing some type of thrust and pull ascend method? I thought this could possibly open some really good opportunities for me hunting the many water crossings I encounter. I’m a big rascal, pretty active and never cared for sticks. Over time, I developed some type of security both physically and mentally for the climbing stand. I shoot traditional archery exclusively and I hunt on private lands, mostly river bottoms and swamp land. Would someone point me in the right direction here. Many thanks.

Welcome from Texas. There are so many ways to get up, I have found that carrying 4 Lone wolf climbing sticks with aiders gets me higher than I need to be. I also climb with a rope sometimes, but I think it is better to prep your sets before hand and also the rope techniques are a bit more physical.

Look up SRT with an ascender and gri gri plus, it doesn’t require as much of the pumping and sweating

Just how big a boy are you. :)
If you can drill and use bolts on the private you hunt I think that’s the best bang for the buck on private. Climbing ropes is for tree ninjas.
