How to connect sys hauler

I have a mantis and sys hauler. How do you connect the sys hauler to your saddle?

What do you carry in your haulers? Any accessories other than tether and lineman?

I use the front Molle loops. Just push through top pull out the bottom and then pull down on the hauler to tighten the metal against the saddle. I only use one on my left hip. Holds my ropes and biners.

I girth hitch my lineman rope and tuck it into my sys on the left side, and then keep my tether in the right. The one on the right is the ES, so it holds a DIY back band and pull up rope as well. I also attached a few grimloc carabiners around the backside of my saddle, they are very handy for hooking random things like your pull up rope, or a couple climbing sticks.

How sturdy are the grim locks? How much weight would you hang from them?

I also girth hitch left side like 131north. I have a bag on each side. I leave one molly loop on each side in front of the bags for a plastic clip from DanO to attach my sticks with a small paracord loop.20200901_100220.jpg

That's interesting, you put your sys haulers in opposite as I did, looks like it works fine either way! @MichiganT I will send some pics of the Grimlocs tonight – The heaviest thing I've had on them is a 20" Helium, so I accept your challenge to determine their strength. I can say that I wouldn't hang much more than a grunt call or maybe a rangefinder on them in the open position. :)

@MichiganT – I hung this from a strap vs. saddle because it was easier to rig on a post, but to answer your question, these Grimloc carabiners when closed will hold more weight than you would ever want to carry on your person.
This is a 10# weight: IMG_20200903_153206681.jpg

The problem you run into if you overload them in the open position is that they don't have a backstop, and if they overrotate they can come apart. The post in this case prevented the hook from rotating completely out, but as you can see it's no stress on the plastic whatsoever. If you were using it as an accessory hook for something light, where the weight is not going to push against the tree, they work great for that.

Very cool. Thanks for checking that out. I ordered a ten pack with 5 black and 5 brown. They look pretty handy!
