I got in the tree late. Was cussing myself because I couldn’t find my trimmers. Got all set up was watching where I figured the deer would come from, WRONG, they came in behind me and busted me 3 times. Seen 7 deer. I got down and moved seen 6 more. On the way out I found a super hot persimmon tree I will be back on that in the morning.
Most comfortable sit in the kestrel so far. I made my bridge longer thanks( @swampsnyper ) I put my tether higher and it felt good. It did ride up a little this way. But it didn’t feel bad.
So about those trimmers they was in my back pocket the whole time! Did I mention this was the most comfortable sit in the kestrel so far? Yep I did. I’m not giving up but I think I need to get me a Mantis on the way.

Going to meet up with the gang eat lunch and get back in the woods.
Hunt 3 coming soon

Just think how comfortable it would be without trimmers in your back pocket. Now let’s go shoot some persimmons flavored deer!!!

Kinda what I was thinking

Must be pretty damn comfortable to not notice trimmers back there.

not comfortable but tolerable
BTW Catman busted a doe off the persimmon tree the next day I didn't hunt it

@ImThere , how does the Kestrel compare to your sitdrag? I am watching all the saddle reviews because inevitably I would like to reduce a little bulk ( I use a climbing harness with my sitdrag). I figure after this season, there should be some solid feedback of the various models. I find the sitdrag, very comfortable, both for sitting and leaning. Six and seven hour sits are a non issue, and I could easily go longer. Pete

@Peterk1234
Honestly?

IMHO the Sitdrag is above and beyond the Kestrel in comfort. IMHO I will add so far. I’m working on it.
Saddles are a funny thing you either love them or hate them they are very personal. I know a lot of guys that hate the sitdrag and love anything else but a sitdrag.

Don’t tar and feather me. I know Bigasports is or has went back to his Areohunter because he thinks it’s more comfortable than the Kestrel.

With that being said I used a very comfortable linesman belt, I have a Ernie’s outdoors linemen inside a molle belt that carries my ropes and whatnot. My sit drag was simply a seat. I didn’t use it whatsoever to climb the tree. I have a 28” ish bridge and tethered forehead high. If you set the tether to high the sitdrag gets uncomfortable fast.
My sitdrag and linesman came in at the same weight size bulk as a kestrel.

I am very appreciative of NewTribe for donating my kestrel to Saddleplooza so I could win it. I don’t want to sound ungrateful because I’m not. The kestrel is incredibly well made. Just a very nice piece of equipment.

I just need to hit the sweet spot.
