Hunting low w/saddle

If you're successful hunting from a tree stand at 10 ft., you'll knock it out of the park in a saddle! You can keep the tree between you and the deer instead of being stuck on the side of the tree like a big dork with nowhere to go. Of course any cover you can take advantage of will always help no matter how you to hunt from a tree. I like multi-trunk trees myself. The more that's going on around you, the less you stand out.

When I get to hunt archery season on public and its 500 degrees out I'll use my saddle kinda like how the sitdrag original use and stop and relax for breaks and eating lunch instead of sitting on the ground...same turkey hunting....kick all the leaves out at the base of the tree and u have quiet 360

Cody D'Acquisto has said that he routinely hunts with two sticks and some screw in steps if needed. Granted he's not using a saddle. But as long as you have some decent cover I don't think it's necessary to be 30' up.

Where I hunt is mostly real flat, biggest hills are never more than 30" high. Wind > height.

I hunt the wind from any height and since hunting from elevation I just find a comfortable spot on the tree, preferably where I can set my thigh right above a brushy branch to conceal me in when looking from below

I generally only go up about 15 feet. I get picked off way less now hunting from a saddle than I did hunting from a stand at the same height.
