I need some new pants for the early season in the north east. I generally find a lot of hunting camo pants to be very baggy in the legs and I can’t stand it. I don’t want skinny jeans either haha. I’m also looking to get some gaiters to help keep me dry on my way in on wet mornings. Any recommendations?

I’m an east coast guy and I like my Kuiu gaiters. I bought them for out west, but with a layer of permethrin they keep the ticks off and the pant legs dry.

I would say go try them on to size, or order a few sizes and return what you don't like. There's a whole thread about them somewhere on here.

Outdoor Research has some good quality gaiters for a decent price.

Just ordered 3 pairs of those Wrangler pants @BCHunter mentioned. Mostly for work but I am going to try them for huntin also. I’ve not tried them before. They look as though they’re made out of the same type material the one pair of Kuhl pants I bought are made out of. I love those Kuhl pants they’re just too dang expensive . So I have high hopes for these Wranglers! Also I wore a pair of Kennetrek gaiters during spring gobbler this spring. I’ve never worn gaiters before but this is the first year I didn’t wear my knee boots turkey huntin. So I thought I’d try gaiters over my hiking boots. Loved it! Kept my legs dry and was way more comfortable than hiking all over in those knee boots. Definitely going to try them this deer season.

Awesome!! What size boot do you wear and what size gaiter did you buy?

I wear a 13 boot. I bought the XL Kenetreks but honestly think I should’ve exchanged them for the L. Not for the boot size but because of my calves. I’ve got pretty decent size calves so that’s why I bought the XL but I’ve got them as tight as they’ll go to keep them up. Not really that big of a deal but I think the L would have been fine. Oh and I got them from Amazon. I think they were like $59 maybe? And I got the tanish/brown color

Thanks! I might have to pick a pair up!

I just bought 2 pairs of these pants at my local Walmart. I’m amazed by them. They are comparable to pants 4x the cost of the wranglers.

Only thing I will say kinda negative is the sizing. I bought a 32x32 and a 30x32. The 30x32 actually feels looser in the waist than the 32x32.

I like the First Lite traverse gaiters. I really only use them to keep bottom of pants dry in wet grass. They do a great job of that.

Look at arborist pants by Kuhl Radikl. I just bought 3 pair for hunting again for this yr. they are a stretch vented pants with articulated knees and gussets crotch. For early season these are awesome pants for climbing
