Hunting with a Silver Back??

I bought a nock on silver back early this spring so I could really try to improve my shooting, and I love it. I was planning on trading/selling it, so I could buy another thumb button to hunt with. I really don't want to sell this thing now because of how much It has helped me, and I would like to use it for years to come.

Has anybody actually hunted with one and had a bad experience? I can see how it could get a little if'y in a high stress situation trying to get a shot off. I just think that I have shot with it so much this past spring and summer that I really don't want to jump to anything else.

Couldn’t you just get a nock2it, similar feel & complete control of shot timing???

Yeah i definitely could but i am trying to avoid spending another 200 bucks. Riding the bikes to sturgis in a week so I’m gonna be pretty strapped for cash.

Gotcha, had to go for low hanging fruit first. Personal choice but I wouldn’t hunt with it......you can find your form just a bit twisted up at the moment of truth hunting from a saddle. But I know guys who do, your call.

I have the same dilemma. I like practicing with it but not sure I want to carry a $200 release in the woods. I could also see it not firing in the moment. The Hot Shot Vapor is pretty decent for the money. New they are around $100 or you can get used for cheaper. I had one and sold it but wish I had kept it.

I have a Hot Shot Vapor I am looking to get rid of, great release, just sticking with my other two thumb buttons. Just a thought
