Let me start off by saying I am brand new to saddle hunting I just received my Aero Hunter Kestrel Flex Kit last week. I am still waiting on a lot of other equipment that order like the wild edge steps. I did some research Predator Platform and it is the best one on the market by far I looked at video on YouTube (
) and the Predator platform does very good on slanted trees. I like the perch because I am going to use wild edge steps as a platform. I definitely want to use the ring of steps style platform for saddle hunting. The main reason is that I want to be able to move my body around the tree so I can block the deers view of me. From my experience I have been spotted several in my tree stand from deer looking up at me. I watched john Eberhart DVDs and listen to his podcast he also says that hunting in a tree saddle and using the tree to block the deer view you is a big advantage over a tree stand.

This is my question would it be practical to use Predator Platform with a ring of steps. I would use my wild edge steps as ring of steps so would be like hybrid platform. The other option would be buy the perch and just use the wild edge steps as platform. I am kind of conflicted because I hunted on slanted trees in the past because I didn’t have any other options. Let me know what you think thanks

Predator platform with one Ameristep (or Squirrel Step) on my strong side. On my weak side is my top climbing step, usually a bolt. That set up allows me to travel more than 180 degrees on most trees. Adding more steps to the strap. IMO, just complicates the set up and the wrap up after each hunt.
