Indiana hunting and fishing fees are increasing for next year. Non-residents will pay almost double what they did last year.

I put off going last year and was planning on going this year. Took a look, it’s $240 nonresident and you don’t need any secondary license….that’s actually not too bad.

People in state are complaining about the increases. But they haven’t raised them since 2006. Still cheaper than paying the fine for not having a license. Not like I’m not going to hunt. Even though the past two seasons my money he basically been a donation ha.

The bundle is usually the best deal unless you just want an archery buck. It includes three tags and they’re good for every season (bow, firearms, muzzleloader). It went from $295 to $550. Sucks for people that live right across the border. But cut back on smoking and/or drinking or fast food and you’ll find extra money.

If I lived closer that would certainly be the way to go, but it’s a haul from VA.

Understandable. I’m debating on whether to try hunting KY this year or not. It’s $335 for tags. But I can be in KY in about 30 minutes or so. Be on public in about an hour depending on where I go. It would extend my season by about a month. Goofed up and we’re expecting towards the end of October.

I was in IN last weekend (3/27) and saw two different bucks with their antlers still attached, one was a nice 8 pt, the other a 6pt. I talked to a local and he said that part of IN had only gotten about 2” of snow all winter. I thought both the antlers and lack of snow was rather odd.

I’m in basically the furthest SW corner of IN and we don’t typically get much snow accumulation. We get a couple of good snow storms but usually freezing rain/sleet. Seems like deer hold their antlers pretty late around here. But I’m not big on shed hunting. Usually have fishing and turkey on my mind at that point.
