Good job. Are you going to try and lighten the post? Also, you don't need a ratchet and you'll probably fight it a little trying to get the sweet spot in how tight it is. I've only been using cam buckles and they work fine. I guess if you don't try and cam it over maybe the ratchet would work. Let us know how it goes.

I’am not going to try to lighten the Post just yet . I don’t plan on camming over just trying out the Rachet Strap first for tightness .I will post a up date on try out.

The scooter foot rest makes a strong platform. When I built mine weight was not a concern where I intended to hunt so I used 11ga steel tubing. It’s set up with API strap to cam lock. I can stand on it to cam. The platform and the bolts that came with it will handle a tremendous amount on force.

I’am really hoping the Bolts that came with the Platform will do their job and not shear off, testing will tell.

On several of mine I didn't get a bolt, so I drilled out the threads and use a 5/16" safety pin (quick disconnect). This allows me to take it apart for storage/transport.

The safety pin is a great idea.Thats what I like about this site and all the members that share their ideas.
