Monday is my day off and had some stuff I have to get done today. Gets light early, so went to my parents house to sit in the high grass for a few hours. Try out my new kill suit I got.
Had a deer blowing at me when walking into the grass. Which were I have been sitting is only about 15-20yrds in. So set up. Wait untill light. Call some, act like a small buck out there. (called a 1.5 in last year) After a hour goes by I hear some blowing again. Doe with a youngen working there way back towards me. She spends about 5mins blowing at me. Not cause she can smell me, but knew I didn't belong. Almost worked her way to a good 20yrd shot, but then ran off. Blowing away. Figured she had enough and was moving on. Sun if finally all the way up. I clear a better concealed spot out in a small dead fallen ash tree. Wait a while, then say time to go home and get to work. So stop in to see my parents with a nice picture window of where I was hunting, and no sooner what I think is that doe working her way towards where I was sitting. No big deal. Maybe she will be back later. 2 mins later nice body deer comes in circles were I was sitting. Grab the binos. Yep. Nice buck right there running after her. Set my coffee down, grab my bow and run back down there. Tried calling, snort wheeze anything to try and see if he comes back. Nope. But the bottom line is. Just cause a Doe blows at your for 5mins and goes running off. Doesn't mean it's over.
So gonna get to work here and maybe try to get our there this evening. Wish I would have stayed out there 10 more minuets.
