just measure my bridge length from my new Kestrel and it was 31 inches

Wasn’t really comfortable so I measured it

Shortened it down to 26 and it seems better as I can put my teacher at forehead height now and lean a lot better, I’m about 5 7”

What’s a good bridge length everyone has found?

I’m right there with you. 5’7” and find 24”-26” perfect. I feel like there is less obstruction in front of me. If I didn’t start to feel squeezed below 24” I would go shorter but this is about as short as I can go and still remain comfortable.

You're in a typical length. I like mine at 24" and most guys fall somewhere between 24-30.

I've been a short bridge/eye level or lower tether guy for the most part - and lean more than sit.

However, after watching enough of Boswell's videos, I went the opposite direction. I think it's going to work out well for me, as he and I are a similar build. It's a little more work to get dialed in, and set up, but the mobility tradeoff, and comfort sitting is worth it. I'm actually going to leave my short bridge that's spliced on, in place. I've the long bridge tied on one side and clipped/ropeman on the other for now while i'm messing with it.

The more I think about it, an adjustable bridge really seems to be worth it. DIYSportsman has a video showing how he tied a friction hitch on one side to adjust his bridge - i'll probably go that route to start the season.
