Kong Duck Ascender combined with Sterling OpLux 8.0mm
Saddle hunters use caution when you combined Kong Duck Ascender with the Sterling Oplux 8.mm rope. I personally used this combination for linesman rope last hunting season without issues. Today during SRT practice using this combination with a foot loop the Kong Duct will slip on the Oplux. My equipment is in good condition and I do not believe it to be faulty. I own a hand ascender, but was trying to reduce the need to carry it. The Kong Duct will catch, but you may find your heart up in your throat by the time it does.
 
I only use the kong duck on my tether, but will be switching it to my LB. Oplux is my tether, LB and bridge as well as my rappel rope. However on the rappel I back up my madrock lifeguard with an 6mm TRC autoblock. That way I know I'm safe.
