On the last day of deer season my friend, who we will call fish ninja, called and asked if I wanted to go hunting. He has a 200acre lease. The wind was out of the south southwest. We met at the southeast and form a game plan. He wanted me to walk the upwind side of an area he thinks/knows a buck he's been getting on camera lives.

We drive to the southern red dot and he gets ready and rides his bike to his spot that somewhere in the blue highlighted area.....he texts me.at 3:40 letting me know he's ready and I go walk the edge like he wanted me to do as fast as I can...once that was done I book it back to my truck and drive up to the northern dot and park. I jump down in the deep ditch and cross over onto the firebreak trail between young pines and a swamp...real thick tight quarters. I'm seeing a good amount of buck sign and lots of tracks up and down the little trail. I find a spot that I can see a little ways into the swamp and couple areas to shoot down onto anything walking the trail I walked in on. The wind swirled around going in pretty much every direction and I wasn't feeling very confident but super grateful for the chance to be out there.

I catch movement over in the young pines on the other side of the trail and I see a black hog walking around over there...hes kinda on his way in my kinda direction and I know he's about to hit the trail but I won't be able to see him. I wait watching the shooting lanes on the trail for a couple minutes and just when I'm thinking maybe he slipped on outta here I see him slowly entering the swamp still almost in the same direction he was going before I lost sight....I think maybe he was standing on the trail feeding/being cautious for that time I couldn't see him?...anyway...I get the gun over the bridge and rotate the hips so I can make that weak side shot...pig makes up it's mind it's safe and enters into the swamp were it's a little more open and I pop him at the red X.

Fish ninja tells me all the surrounding properties use multiple feeders year round and they aren't....pig was full of corn and lots of fat

It started raining during recovery and it really really started raining during the cleaning process so I couldn't document...between hair.skin, shield, fat and meat there was easy 5" of stuff to get threw before u would be inside the vital cavity....I ended up just lopping off rear quarters and finishing the next day ....this is the layer of fat on a rear leg so u can imagine how thick up on the shoulder.....Screenshot_20230220-084805~2.png
