I am trying to decide on a platform and climbing sticks. I am looking for reviews from people who have actually used the following products:

Platforms- tethrd’s predator, lwcg kuhnerts ambush

Climbing sticks- beast sticks, shikar sticks, lwcg sticks.

Everyone of these have been reviewed extensively, w/ the exception being OOAL Shikar sticks..... just search & you should have enough reading to last the weekend.

I'm a newbie, but I really liked the Predator platform for the 6 or 8 sits I got in late-season. With a proper cam-over, it was very sturdy, and with a bit of camo vet tape and twine or paracord, you can make it dead quiet for pretty cheap. I haven't used the others, but I have no hesitation in recommending the Predator.

I have probably read every one of them too. But before I spend that kind of money I want to make dang sure it’s what I want. Thanks for your insight though.

I've been hunting with the ambush a lot this year. Plan on doing a video review on it and the mini sticks sometime soon. Any specific questions?
Looking forward to watching it. I’d like to see hunting weight and how the platform takes side pressure. Maybe the size of it compared to a day pack as well.

Thanks. The reason I am considering the ambush is because of the size and being able to stand to take the off hand shot. Just not sure about the bulk of packing it.

X2. Been using it most of this season, perfect size and weight. Agree with @Mschmeiske on replacing the standoff, I got one from DanO and it bites much better on the tree.

Of the choices you listed, I have only used the Predator and the Beast sticks. Very happy with both so I am not looking to change either of those setups. I will say that I haven't used any of your other choices so I can't really give comparisons. Only change to my setup is I think I will sell my Mantis saddle to get the new Phantom.

Do you consider packing the beast sticks to be a problem? I have the original lw sticks and it looks like they stack similar but shorter in length.

Watch this video from Mark Dohring. I pretty much do it the same way except I wear my saddle in. I like how when you set the pack down the sticks keeps the pack vertical. I have the X2 pack the same as he does.
