I have had my mossberg 695 with the Leupold VX-1 1x4x20 power scope for over 15 years and I bought it used. This past October, I took it to the range and resighted it in as I found my barrel screw for the stock had backed out. Making my barrel loose. Tightened it up and found my scope was off. Resighted it in so that at 100 yards I had three shots 1" high and all three touching...with one a keyhole. Went to sight in my son's gun yesterday and just for grins I shot my 695. Found that for some reason it was off considerably. Thought about it all day and took it to the range. I couldn't even hit the target at 100. At 50, I was shooting several feet high. Got it resighted in for 50...went to 100 and dang if that thing was still shooting almost 5' high with one shot, 4' low on the next shot. My windage and elevation turrents no longer click when turning it...I don't know. I'll contact Leupold Monday and send it back to them. Oh, and shotgun season starts tomorrow. I'll be using my son's 20 guage youth model. I think it was designed for men with T-rex arms. But it's dead on at 100 so there's that. If I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.
