Light weight boots

I’m looking for a new pair of light weight hunting/hiking boots. I had a pair of UA boots that I loved comfort wise, but they fell apart way to quickly in my opinion. My muck style boots aren’t fun early season, wanting something lighter. I’d like to keep it under $150 also if possible. Any recommendations?

Adidas Terrex

Keep your nose to the wind, and your eyes along the skyline.

I got a pair of $30-$40 tingleys off of Amazon at the beginning of last season that I absolutely love. They are about as plain as it gets but greatly exceeded my expectations.

I've worn Salomon for years ...low top, high top, Gortex, non-Gortex, with gaiters and without. I absolutely LOVE them when the conditions allow me to wear them and I'm not hunting in high-water areas.

I will say, I just started running in Altras this year and the weight will absolutely blow your mind. I'd be curious to compare Salomon to Altra. My guess is Altras would weigh less, but I have a lot of miles in Salomon and know they hold up...

For the record, I wouldn't recommend either in areas of High water. Tingly would likely win for those conditions.

I have not had them on since turkey season and forgot about my Tingleys! That was a bad oversight. After I bought them off the classifieds here, I ended up wearing them the entire deer season, even into 18 degree weather with no problems. By far my favorite overall boot.

This! If you have a very wide foot then the Salomon’s would not be the best choice. Otherwise, they are excellent! I wear the boots for hunting, and I use the Salomon trail runners for my every day work shoe.

They are amazing, and I do the same with the cold weather. I took the sole out and just carry an extra pair of socks if it’s cold. Empty the water out of the boot(the entire inside is rubber), toss new socks on, and I’m good to go.
