I got the following email from Jerry at Wiggy's this evening:

GAME CARRIER

Between 15 and 20 years ago I was importing from an Australian company, Cross Fire back packs and tents. They are excellent products but they did not sell well due to the high price I had to get.

One of these products which I called a game carrier at $200.00 sat on the shelf. My partner just found about 25 of them in inventory.

On Monday I will have pictures on the web site.

Here is a detailed description of the product
A dynamic load carrier, this polymer frame flexes at the same rate as the human back. Too little flex, as in rigid metal frames, forces hips and shoulders against each other with every stride. Some packs over flex, which forces shoulder muscles to fight angular momentum as the load swings wide.

The DG16 is tuned just right to minimize fatigue. Hips and shoulders move freely, the stride is longer and less exhausting. Active air movement reduces heat stress.

Shoulder harness is the classic Crossfire ergonomic design: contoured, tapered, laminated from multiple advanced materials. Integrates smoothly over CBA, reduces pressure on the vital brachial plexus nerve group. Fast adjustment for back length. Breathing body contact fabrics. Crossfire exclusive QR system is secure, easy to adjust and smooth to operate in an emergency.

Hip belt fully reinforced for a long life of transferring the load to the hip structure. Fins removable, hip pad removable. Three height settings for a custom fit.

The DG16 Frame System embodies everything we have learnt in three decades: materials science, ergonomics, integration and combat experience. It has been designed from first principles. There is nothing else like it, anywhere.
It's original purpose was for military use but I brought in for hunters to have a remarkable game carrier.

I am selling them for $125.00 each delivered except in Alaska, you will have to pay the shipping but there will be a break.

Now I know nothing about these packs except they are a non-current backpack made by Crossfire which is top quality goods. Again, this is an NOS backpack, the DG16. They still make the DG16 today but I'm not sure how many changes they have made over the years. I've included a link to the current Crossfire DG16 below. It sounds like a killer deal with a very limited quantity so if it's anything you're interested in, you'll need to act fast, in fact, it wouldn't hurt to shoot Jerry an email to get in line for one. If you see the pictures on his website on Monday, 1/30/2023, and you don't like it, just let him know you've changed your mind.

I saw the crossfire price first and laughed, then saw wiggys price. That’s a good deal.

Nice find.

Curious how different the frame is from the MOLLE frames.

This is a picture from Wiggy's website. So it's not a pack, it's a pack frame not an 85L pack as I assumed it was. As of this posting, they have 5 left in stock. I just wanted to clarify what he's selling.

In fact, it's not different at all....cause it isn't a DG16 frame. Very disappointing.

So its not even from Crossfire? Looks heavy duty and well built; however from the picture you posted.

It is a Crossfire harness on a regular old MOLLE II frame, not the DG16 frame as advertised/ described.

If you're not happy with it, send it back. Jerry said it was NOS but 15-20 years old, not the current issue.

Thank you. I am aware of that option and I am hoping that Wiggy's will waive the 25% restocking fee for returns (indicated on my invoice), and refund my return shipping. I'm reaching out to the Wiggy's team.

The harness is not the current model, sure. But NOS isn't the issue. It isn't a DG16 Frame at all. That's what was advertised:

It is a MOLLE II frame, period.

Dang. Was hoping to get you to weigh that dg16 frame. I was considering if it might be a good swap in for the hybrid the way I use it. Oh well.

That possibility was in my mind when I placed the order.

The DG16 is highly respected for its comfort over the other MIL frame sets.

I just got off the phone with Jerry. My feeling is I wasn't the first.
I tried to get ahead of it if it didn't ship. He said it probably shipped already. If I didn't want it, he said to refuse delivery.
Pretty sure I'd be out the restocking if I did. I want my jacket liner I ordered anyways.
Quite bummed what he copy/pasted was so far off ...
I'm sure it's a high quality build, just not a DG16

As it was quickly obvious to me that this game carrier didn't have the DG16 frame, which was specific to my plan, I haven't played with it, instead working out a return. But, I want to say that it is equally obviously high quality kit and a good value at $125 shipped. If I didn't have already numerous frame packs, it would be tremendous at this price point. As well, Wiggy's shipped it quickly and the box was bound in poly-cord strapping. I've never seen such care in packaging from any of the high end frame pack companies, so kudos to Wiggy's there.

I do think the newer Crossfire system has a nicer belt design, but the shoulder harness of this game carrier is likely very similar in construction to what you'd get from Crossfire today. The shoulder straps seem to have a rigid formed or shaped sheet under which the padding layers are laminated. This is novel to me and I'm mostly authoring this post to mention that feature. It seems like it would really reduce any potential for hot spots.

For those interested in Crossfire, I found some articles about their packs that catalog some of their designs through the years. I found them interesting:

1. Here, the DG-6 uses the same Down East Inc (DEI P/N 1602) MOLLE frame and Crossfire harness as Wiggy's game carrier: http://packsandbeyond.com/2011/11/review-crossfire-dg-6/

1a. DEI still offers a MOLLE frame, (DEI 1603): https://downeastinnovation.com/product/dei-1603-molle-large-frame/ as well as an open perimeter pack frame I've never seen before: https://downeastinnovation.com/product/open-perimeter-packframe/

2. DG-6 is then upgraded with a Mystery Ranch NICE frame, dubbed DG-6 AUSNICE: http://packsandbeyond.com/2013/04/review-crossfire-dg-6-ausnice/

3. DG-16 introduces the revolutionary new plastic frame designed by Crossfire:

4. DG-3 introduces a smaller frame in the Crossfire design:
