This will be my first year hunting with a saddle. I purchased the phantom with the thethrd linesman rope and tether.

I am trying to gerth hitch one side of the linesman rope to the saddle to get rid of one carabiner. However, the sewn eye on the rope doesn't want to be flexible enough to allow that. Has anyone run into this issue and if so what is the fix?

Do I just need to play with it until it becomes flexible or will it just not allow it to gerth hitch.
