I have been practicing with my saddle, and I consistently feel like my linesman belt, and tether seem a little long. I'm curious if anyone has any input on shortening them and what length? I am practicing on basically basketball size trees. Thank you!
 
I had mine at 8ft and then moved them to 7ft. Some days they still seem a little long for my liking, but if I ever need, I’d rather have it there.
 
If it's long put a small caribiner on the end. If you ever need to go over a limb just throw it around and clip.
