After some accessibility considerations for the public land I hunt, I feel I can go further with a saddle. That being said, I’ve used climbers and hangons and will keep them in the lineup for more strategic hunts.

I hunt a very pressured zone in Southern California so getting to any remote spots means slimming down the weight as best I can. Going to see how high I can get with two sticks and aider.

Gear list below and looking for comments or things I might be missing.

- tetherd phantom and two sys haulers
- linemen’s belt with ropeman
- tether with ropeman
- tetherd recliner strap
- tetherd predator platform
- xop short sticks (4)
- climbing aider
- tetherd hys strap and hero clips
- mystery ranch scree 32 pack to carry everything for all day in the trees

Add a few j clips to haul sticks while you hang sticks and stand. I have been messing with carabiners and don’t love them.

Water and more water LOL. I'm new this year to saddles so no rhythm yet and all the fumbling around and double checking all connections make me sweat alot. Compared to my lock-ons and climbers I love it, I feel alot more hidden though usually lower

I’ll have to give it a go. I was initially thinking that I would paracord/ twist tie some sort of setup for the extra sticks. Hoping I can get away with two and an aider but if I have to have three sticks no big deal.

I usually am pretty stocked on water. I hate feeling like I should have brought more. Water is generally the only thing I don’t skimp out on. The whole reason I’m going this route is to avoid the heavy load and sweat

To be fair to the saddle hunt alot of my sweat comes from going deeper and being nervous hanging by a rope. Good luck

ahhh yea I can see that causing a bit of excess moisture. I get a little rush of anxiety when I’m standing up in my stand and a gust of wind comes by.
