Mantis Phantom Updates: Tell Me What I'm Missing

I'm a big DIY fan and frequent forum lurker.

What I did was use a modified klemheist made from the original mantis amsteel on each bridge loop. I can adjust these with one hand and am not limited to channels or certain points.

The right klemheist attaches to a prusik giving me an adjustable bridge. My bridge has excess rope because it is also my linesman rope (using an idea I saw from YouTube).

Looking for you folks to tell me what I'm missing here. I've tested it and it sits nicely.

Curious why you choose not to tie the figure 8 around the bridge loop, eliminating the extra section of connection?

On which side? I wanted to be able to slide the amsteel on each bridge loop.

Is the amsteel a soft shackle that you have configured as a kleimheist or actually tied? It looks like you’ve maybe knotted amsteel to attach climbing rope and prussik to your saddle. The only reason not to use amsteel is because it wasn’t designed or recommended for life support. It’s been tested and is really strong but is someone doesn’t want to use it I get it. I just don’t see the point in using amsteel to attach bulky presumably safer climbing rope. If that’s what I wanted I would make the amsteel two continuous loops girth or even as a prussik to attach without tying an actual knot in the amsteel.

The amsteel is actually tied and was the original mantis bridge. I just reused it. The climbing rope was too bulky for the space in the bridge loop. I'm not really good with knots so this was simple. I do like the idea of a continuous loop.

The fixed side, the second picture. I would think that’s the non adjustable side and you would tie the figure 8 w the bridge loop on the opening of knot

I think I'm understanding what you're saying. Wouldn't I then lose the ability to have the klemheist tighten/loosen/slide on the bridge loop which serves as my "comfort channel" adjustment?

Can u elaborate on ''my bridge is also my linesman''.....I always thought they were 2 distinct items with 2 distinct purposes....

It's one rope, about 8' long. After the prusik on the right side is all the extra rope. That wraps around the tree and attaches to my left side linesman loop using a carabiner and ropeman. I think I got the idea from a modern assassin video on YouTube. When I'm hanging from my teather, the extra rope after the prusik is stored in a hauler on the saddle.

Pretty genius. You have more adjustability by not have pre defined channels on the bridge loop and you have adjustable bridge length via the prussik. Far as I can tell you are not missing a thing. Nice work @jdunc06

Looks like you could slim it all down with different rope
It's too much going on for me personally but there's more than 1way to skin a cat. I don't see the need for this new bridge adjustment craze

Agreed. It's simpler in person. For sure with the ropes. This was more of a proof of concept deal since season is over.

Gotcha I guess I wasn’t understanding that was used for that also.

I really like the idea, I'm digging it I'm thinking amsteel locked brummel 30” bury with a with a stopper knot, then a whoopie sling on the other end for linesman’s belt!
