So if you wanted or needed a shorter bridge on a Mantis, just make a backup that is adjustable and use as needed?
The bridge on the Mantis is fixed, so no way to shorten it correct. Time will tell, not sure it will ever be an issue for me, but I see where some really like
a shorter bridge.

Seen some people where they just chopped it off and used a adjustable webbing or a new fixed amstel rope. Wonder if you could just splice the stock one. Haven't gotten my mantis yet on a 3 week wait already. That's why I'm gonna buy the flex too because of the adjustable bridge

I only have a half dozen sits in mine but I’ve already cut mine off and made a little shorter tubular webbing bridge. I’m finding I like my tether height lower (chin height or just below) and I run out of room with a longer bridge.

I think I saw @flinginairos saying you can just undo the splice on one side and resplice it. You would have to lock stitch it.
Tubular webbing is about the easiest bridge to diy. Not that others are that hard.

Put an alpine butterfly in the middle of it. That'll shorten 'er up and give you a solid tie in for your carabiner.

I was thinking leave the org one on it (just let it hang) if using a shorter backup (additional) bridge.
Not ready to try a DIY bridge. Can you buy/order an adjustable bridge?
Maybe order a specific length rope (best rope for a bridge would be?) that is spliced with 1 or 2 inch loops at both ends, on one end girth attach and on the other end use a caribiner? Hopefully will not be an issue for me, seems like I would be getting away from the simplicity of the Mantis amsteel bridge.

I thought it was not safe to tie knots in amsteel?
Amsteel is very slick material. Generally you wouldn't want to tie knots in it because they slip out. An alpine butterfly with a carabiner through the loop can't be undone though.

Amsteel has been shown to lose more than 50 percent of its strength when using knots. Actually breaking not just pulling through. Not sure how it does with an alpine butterfly but generally amsteel and knots should be avoided. I also like my bridge to be free to run through my carabiner when twisting and turning and you would lose that this way.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones that the Mantis bridge length was perfect for me out of the box. Used it all last season with zero issues.
