So I've hunted this ladder stand four times. Every time I see deer about forty/fifty yards out where I can't get a shot. They never come from where I expect them to but they are always in the same spot. Today a light dawns on marble head. My stand is in the wrong spot. Now this doesn't seem like a problem to you saddle hunters but I haven't got mine yet and there is no way I'm going to move my ladder stand now. I guess tomorrow I'll put in my Millennium loc on. Sure do wish my Kestrel was here. Another reason to hunt from a saddle.

That’s a HUGE reason to saddle hunt! I’ve hunted 12 sits now and haven’t sat the same tree once. I’m always moving trying to get in close. Should have been a done deal on two mature bucks this past week but limbs blocked my shot. Never would have had those chances if I wasn’t moving!

I’d move the ladder if I didn’t have another means, or just use the lock on till you get your saddle. I just cleared some shooting lanes around a ladder stand I’ve had up since last year. It’s in a good spot, but if the deer start to figure it out, I will move it.
