What are the absolute essentials to carry in on a morning/afternoon hunt? Then what “extra” stuff are you packing in?

Weapon of choice, saddle and accessories needed, coffee, TP, clothes for the day, knife or two, snacks, phone, binoculars,

I carry a knife, flashlight, headlamp, pruner, pullup rope, baby wipes/ toilet paper, lighter, extra bow hook, and a extra wind indicator, copy of my hunting tags, all in my backpack. On my saddle I have a utility pouch I carry a small folder saw, and 2 bow hooks. on my person I carry compass, wind indicator, phone, and pocket knife.

A couple of grunt calls, GPS, compass, 2 flashlights, lighter, saw, 2 - 50' shots of 550 cord, TP, knife, rubber gloves, license and ID with a 6' piece of 550, wind indicator, 2-AA batteries, cell phone, water, food and a rangefinder. Everything else is weather, weapon and stand dependent.

toilet paper is a must..... great for the obvious, great fire starter, if you are trailing blood you can leave pieces to easily find your way back to last blood and find your way back in the dark( bio-degrade able too.)

besides the hunt essentials like my bow, saddle, climbing method, and kill kit, i believe a gps is the next most important piece of equipment. i often go over a mile in, sometimes up to 3 miles, and finding my way around in the dark both ways is much easier with a gps. i can also leave a deer or equipment laying in the field and come back to retrieve it later if needed.
