First day of season here in Arkansas. I have been in the saddle for 6 hrs. Got a late start due to storms. It’s been raining all day and I’m soaked. Ive got to say, wet to the core, im not complaining because I’m hooked! I am using my SitDrag and my Primal Steps with a plywood insert platform. I’m DIY completely. Comfort is not an issue. I’ve mostly been leaning with several shorts sits. No pinch or hotspots. My platform is awesome, rock solid non slip and quiet. As I’ve sat here in the rain, I’ve added up my investment and I’m shocked. For the ropes, biners, saddle, backstrap, pouches, gear-hanger, Steps and platform... I’m in it at $145. That’s so cheap for this incredible and safe way to hunt. There is no going back. The freedom, versatility and ease of mobility is second to none. I wish you could have seen the faces of my two hunting buddies when I stepped away from my truck. One of them has a big-man climber and the other a lock-on and sticks. They asked where my gear was, and I just laughed at them. We always text when we are set. Seems like it took them forever before they sent text and I walked in much further. I will never go back to any other form of hunting! This is truly incredible. Could not have done it without all the ideas, recommendations and innovation from this site. Hats off to all of you, all I need now is to see a deer!!!!!!!

Love it. Well done.

Now time to drill some brown!

Good luck!

That’s awesome! Hope they moving in Arkansas Buddy from work left Friday for his lease there.
I have almost that spent getting my sit drag setup short notice while waiting on my mantis. At least I had amsteel and a rock climbing harness already and now I’ll have a backup when I get my saddle.

I live in central Arkansas and I commend you for sticking it out throughout this nasty day. It has been pouring and drizzling on and off all day. Good luck and welcome to the saddle club.

I can tell by your post how excited you are to be in a saddle, especially one you made yourself. Good luck this season.
