As a platform?
Looks like they would be stable.
How do they feel on your feet?
I would be putting my feet across two of those at a time and I bet that would be comfy
 
I'm interested in what you did there. Can you explain what you did and post some more pics, some close ups? Looks pretty good!
 
Looks like screw in tree step, with the screw in part cut off. Then welded onto a 4" piece of angle iron.

Correct

The slot was a little tricky welding back up

Otherwise pretty simple

The trick is to come up with something like that structurally that would be lightweight and quiet.
A guy on Archery Talk made some out of wood.
The creativity is fun to watch.
 
Yup. What about aluminum? I've got some ideas using stock from onlinemetals.com but I haven't ordered anything yet.
 
Funny I was thinking wood may be another Idea, I will admit these are a bit heavy but nothing compared to lugging a stand around.

They will need a layer of hockey tape too....
