So this is what ive been working on the last month or so and its finally complete! I have to say im really happy with it. I sat in it for about 2 hours yesterday morning and it was quite comfortable. This isnt my first DIY saddle but definitely the first I'm not embarrassed to show anybody lol. Yall don't pick on my sewing too bad.
I guess you could call this a phantom clone. The frame is made or 2 inch seat belt webbing and I used high strength thread for the box stitches. The leg loops and waist belt are made from standard webbing and are not load bearing however I don think they need to be in my opinion. I also did not add a lineman loops as i rarely ever use the lineman belt as i live in eastern Georgia and most trees i climb are straight up and down pine trees with little to no limbs. If i should need them however i climb with a rock climbing harness as a backup in case anyting should fail on my DIY setup and the harness has built in lineman rings that i will use.

So that could probably be a whole other post. Its a sort of two tether climb system platform combo all DIY stuff. Basically took a lot of ideas ive seen on YouTube and tweaked them to work better for me. Ill have to put up some pics at some point.
This is good...its à scientific fact that monkeys use sticks too scare away game animals.and their not even metal!

Looks great but are your bridge buckles plastic?
No its kind of hard to tell
I believe the buckles are a waist belt. His bridge is rope
Right. The bridge is 8mm rope. The black strap is a back band i made to match for a little extra comfort. I was indeed using cheap plastic buckles at the time but only for the back band however I did NOT like the feel. I have since upgraded to some metal buckles that feel a lot more secure.

looks awesome man! I made one a few years very similar to this, but never got around to putting any kind of fabric on it like that. What material is the camo portion? Been hunting out of it for 3 or 4 seasons now, but seeing yours has reinspired me to finish mine all of the sudden lol.

Ill be honest i cant remember what the exact material was called however I know its some sort of heavy duty nylon canvas like material i found on Amazon i wouldn't put just any fabric on there but i believe the seatbelt webbing does most of the work so as long as youve got something rip resistant i think you should be good
