I am getting back into saddle hunting after a long absense. I switched over because of discomfort but hoping after modifying my sling I can use it. Tired of carrying a climber all the time and wanted a differnet option. After seeing John Eberharts picture it got me thinking. So I modified my sling.

Very nice, would like to see more pics and details.

It is just a Anderson Tree Sling that I bought in 1995 for $50. I cut the lead strao off and used it as my bridge(stole John E idea). I attached a carabiner to the bridges where it can slide freely. The carabiner is attached to a HSS Rope with a prussic. Very lightweight. Weighs a pound and very simple. THe question is which I havent put to a good test is how comfortable I will be. I am not a skinny 27 year old anymore. I am really hoping it will work and give me a lightweight option for a 3-5 hour sit.

That's sweet! I think I want to make one for me! All the cool kids seem to be doing it:) I'd think 3-5 hours would be doable in a minimalist saddle like that.
