I have been one sticking since mid November. At times I think it’s the most awesome thing there is. At other times I swear it’s my worst nightmare. (Very much like my teenagers). Where is the best place to hook the pull down rope to get my rappel line down

If you can clip to the eye I think that will be best for you. So between “1” and “2”.

“3” will pull easiest but you end up with the tag end in your hand and then have to pull the link through branches etc and it might get caught in a tight crotch.

“2” is most annoying and can be hard to loosen.

“1” is good, but you don’t want your carabiner to slide over the sewing and turn into “2”.

So I’m recommending clipping to the eye.

3. I put my pull rope connected to the end of 3. I've not had any issues getting it out of the tree.

Agree with those that said clip to the sewn eye. I attach a carabiner behind my figure eight but without that knot, the sewn eye would functionally accomplishment the same thing.

Definitely NOT the tag end first. You want your eye and hardware down first.

When I SRT I attach paracord at 1 with a caribiner before pulling the loop end up into the tree.

I want to thank everyone. Hunted this morning and evening clipped into position 1.5 everything went perfect. Climb was good, rappel was good, rope retrieval was good. Only thing that could have been better was deer movement. Thanks again.

I got the loop stuck in a crotch my last time out by clipping at "3". I threw the throw bag over the crotch from the opposite side I originally threw it from, untied the throw bag then tied the tail end of the rope on and pulled the tail back over the crotch to retrieve the rope. I sat till dark so I did this after dark with a hat light. If I had known it was going to get stuck, I would have quit an hour earlier. :grinning: I now clip at "1".

What you need to do is don’t attach the pull rope. When you’re part way back up to put it on and your bow is on the ground the deer will show up. Guaranteed.
