Just wanted to say hi

Made a sit and drag saddle and excited to give it a test drive in the woods. Giving it a test run in the yard has me excited.

Have a xop hand climber top coming to play with, figured it could be used with my sticks or can just use it as a climber which appeals to me in certain spots where sticks are not needed. plus i can mix it with my summit platform and use it that route as well.

Still have a few mods i want to make to the saddle, mostly just buckles so i can hook it to the rock harness for the climb and walk in and maybe some loops for gear. but one step at a time :)

Welcome, live in Va. now but lived in Chenango Forks before that, Still hunt up there every year. Enjoy the site.

Ready to go. Received my platform today and took a few practice shots.

Not sure if ill use this full time but if im going in blind and scouting this setup weighs alot less then my hang on and can go in any tree as well.

going to take it out this weekend and see how i like it after a few hrs in the tree :)

I've found the platform to really shine on mobile/blind setups. That's pretty much the only time I use it. It's light and works on pretty much any tree. Tough to beat.

packs nicely, will be really easy to climb as well.

My only worry is shooting to the right hand side. In my main spot 90% of the time they will follow the same trail but every so often they will veer off course and if i setup with this the shot will be to my right. Willl have to practice this in the yard before i take it out

Had time to play with it more and shoot from it. Probably wont see much use honestly. Find it much harder to shoot at all angles compared to the hang on setup and shooting from it feels odd. Comfortable but dont feel confident ill make a good shot from it when i have a nice buck coming in fast.

maybe next year.

Interesting. I, personally, feel I shoot better out of my saddle because I am naturally leaning downward instead of remembering to bend at the waist from a lock-on stand. Very confident shooting from saddle.

Like you said though, practice and get confident for next year.
