The name Cajunyankee is because I grew up in the mid west and do most of my hunting back there. Been in Louisiana for the past 25 years after getting stationed down here and never left. I just couldn’t leave the food in the south.
I joined the site in early December and wish I would have found it years ago. I spent most of my life hunting private but switched to public a few years ago. After lugging around a climber the first year, I switched to a lock on and never really liked it. I prefer to scout around mid day and setup when I find hot sign. That’s not much fun to do with 30-40lbs on my back.
I found this site shortly after purchasing a guidos web. If I had found this site prior I would have bought the kestrel. I have spent the last few months reading several threads on here and finally got to the point of looking at the welcome section. With all the jokes about spending too much money - I realized that I fit in here. Since joining the forum, I have built a sit-drag, several fleece saddles, and I have a kestrel on order. Now I just need to start selling off my old gear because I am never going back to the traditional treestands.
This is by far the best forum I have ever seen. Thanks @redsquirrel and @g2outdoors. I have also been listening to the podcast lately and have really enjoyed the first few episodes.
