Hope all is well with each of you with all that's going on in the world today. I am new to the site and am really looking at getting into saddle hunting. I actually had a friend come out today and show me how to use the Tethrd Mantis. Just sitting in it once and moving around I can tell that this will be a game changer for me. What I am having issues with is finding the one that I want. I have looked at the saddles from Tethrd and I can't afford those so I started looking at other options and found 3 that really interest me. They are the H2 Slingshot, Trophyline Ambush Lite or Pro, and the Treehopper Recon sling. They all look like good options and I am sure I would be happy with any of them, but just wondering if any of you have been able to use all 3 of them or at least 2 of them and could share your knowledge on which you prefer and why. Thanks in advance for the responses.

Welcome! Get ready, the saddle hunting game is a DEEP hole to get into! Not that the others are bad, but I can tell you the H2 saddle is awesome for the money. It’s the only saddle I’ve tried and owned. I have a feeling the tree hopper saddle is fine too based on other similar saddles I’ve seen. I have heard a lot of comfort complaints about Trophy Line saddles.

The difficult thing about saddles is that how they feel to people is very personal. It’s really hard to say if any of these will actually work for you unless you just try for yourself and see. I took a chance on the H2 with zero saddle experience before and it has been awesome for me. Personally I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in it.

I have seen a lot of good reviews for the H2 and saw where they have a kit (Saddle with leg straps, tether, linemans rope, and 2 carabiners) for $250. That sounds like a very good deal!

Awesome! Heath, who owns and runs H2 seems like a really good dude, and smart! I got my saddle early on before he was even labeling his saddles. It is built very robust with extra stitching in the right areas for weight bearing and safety. Like other American companies in this tiny industry, you can see he takes pride in his work. It shows in the craftsmanship of the saddle. I’ve not heard of one problem with these saddles yet. Unless someone just didn’t like it for a personal reason, not because there was a failure or quality issue.
