I would like to introduce myself to the group as a new member joining the saddle hunting community. I am new to saddle hunting and am looking forward to next season. I have used hang-ons, climbers, and blinds, but have always felt something was missing from the connection to beast hunting and this is it. Most of my hunting has been bow hunting whitetail and hogs in AL, GA, and TN.

I have recently PCS'ed back to Fort Campbell, KY and looking forward to the upcoming season. Unfortunately, I did not get to hunt this season due to deployment to AFG after two weeks of being on ground at Campbell. But this gives me plenty of time to cyber scout new locations for next season and read all your knowledge on here.

Still trying to figure which saddle set up I am wanting to go with and I look forward to learning from all the post and getting know you guys.

Welcome! What are you doing up so dang early?

Welcome, thank you, and good luck going forward!

You’ve got plenty of time to get it all ironed out before next season.

If I can make any recommendation - buy used gear here on the site. You can basically try every climbing method, saddle, platform, accessories for free - if you don’t like something, list it on here again, and sell it for very close to what you bought it for.

Second recommendation - find people close to you on the saddle hunter map. An experienced saddle hunter’s in person input is very valuable. And you’ll be able to try their gear.

Thanks! Great recommendations.

Best part of deployment right now is using my intel guys to print maps! Its actually forcing to cyber scout and really focus on terrain/weather before putting boots on ground.

Welcome from Maryland!! Thank you for your service! You have plenty of time to read up & see what’s gonna be the best fit.
