Hello All,

Been using the site for a while so I thought it was time to make a profile as I'm really trying to use the saddle more but struggling with making it work for me. Bought it in 15 but only used it a couple times in pre sets. I like to be 100% mobile and I just haven't figured out how to approach it yet. Also kudos to all involved with the site, have not seen another site where the members treat each other with as much respect. And thank you all for the wealth of information I've already picked up from the site, it's been very informative to me.

Yes sir pull up a seat. This is a great site. What is your set up? I'm sure someone can guide you along.

Ben, welcome. Where are you in PA as I am in DE and may be able to help if you are in the SE.

Thanks fellas, I'm using the aerohunter. I'm trying to use the lone wolf seat for my climber as a climber and platform, along with an aided for branches. I got a ropeman now I haven't tried yet that I think will resolve some of my issues. Thanks Gr33, I'm on the other side though, kinda near Pittsburgh.

Welcome Ben, I'm new here also. And your definitely right on the wealth of info on here. This will be my first year hunting from a saddle, and cant wait!

This is a very true statement. Once I broke down and got a ropeman, the entire game changed! I am going to get a second one to make the system work that much better. (But you need one on your flip line!)

Not sure about him but I could some
advice. My sitdrag came last week and I won't go up a tree without my HSS harness. Looking for the best way I can use this to both sit in shile
using a platform and as a saddle as well. Thanks---

Watch G2's video on his sit drag modifications and get your bridge set up. While in the tree put all your weight on the sit drag. Let the has harness have some slack. My platform is 4 Ameristep's on 1 strap. I straddle the tree on my steps and sit / lean into the sit drag. You will figure out which is more comfortable quickly. I wear knee pads to relieve pressure on my feet when /if I get tired.

The ropeman is a good investment and will make your life much easier. I would suggest picking up a set of sticks if you want to hunt mobile. There are some guys using the hand climber platform to climb, but it is not the easiest method. Once you get comfortable with saddle hunting you could give it another shot to see if you could make it work.

A HSS won't work well using a saddle since you attach to the backside. I suggest you look at picking up a rock climbing harness so that you can attach to the front side. A rock climbing harness works very well in tandem with a sit and drag.

Yeah the ropeman definitely helped a lot. Certainly don't have it mastered yet. Gonna make my bridge a fixed bridge now. Anything wrong with stopper knots on both ends. I know a lot of folks here splice the ends but I'm not real comfortable with that. I like to hunt pretty high and have some really long walks back in so I'm trying to keep my weight way down as much as possible. The climber seat platform along with a 5 step aider is the best way I can think to be 100% mobile, and as light as possible with the versatility of getting around branches.

There is nothing wrong with a stopper knot on both ends, that is how I have mine set up.

Welcome, BenG, I grew up in NE PA. I've been using the SitDrag as well, thanks to all these folks, I've got a pretty good setup! Oh and it better work because I don't have any other stand, lol!
